Matt Rednor

Matt started Decoded in 2014 with the goal of combining data and creativity to turn the traditional agency model upside down. He honed his strategy skills at creative juggernauts like BBDO and MRY, but saw there was an opportunity to create an integrated offering that led to fun­da­men­tal­ly better outcomes for brands. Inspired by the sports analytics revolution, Matt created Decoded to make a dent in the industry and change the way we think about advertising.

Addie Conner

Addie Conner is the smartest person you will ever meet. Simply put, Addie redefines what strategy means at Decoded, developing new method­olo­gies and analytics to change how the creative process begins and evolves. A pivotal theme in her ongoing product innovation is under­stand­ing the inter­sec­tion of content and ads, and how to effectively merge EQ and IQ. It’s this change that helps rev­o­lu­tion­ize the work clients make. Creative direction no longer comes from artists and ideators alone, it is coupled with Addie’s learning agenda and campaign planning. Addie’s changed the industry once, and she wants to do it again.

Prior to Decoded, Addie was the Co-Founder of SocialCode, a top tech and media analytics company working with over 30 Fortune 100 firms. Prior to SocialCode, Addie was the VP of Advertising for Avenue100, a performance marketing company for educational insti­tu­tions acquired by the Washington Post in 2007.

David Weinstock

It would seem that David had seen it all – the big agencies, smaller firms, in-house teams, and the wild-west of owning his own business – but what he was really searching for was a place that would inspire his natural curiosity and creativity. Behind him a storied list of clients: Dos Equis, Heineken, Ford, Charles Schwab, Coca-Cola, Volvo, Reckitt Benckiser and Diageo. And with those, recognition of every major industry award. Ahead of him, a new frontier of crafting creative work surrounded by like minded explorers, artists and scientists, all driven to change the game.

Nakia Clements

In college Nakia was on a pre-law track and then decided that law school was evil. She interviewed on campus with the Leo Burnett Media agency because the people were cool and the reception snacks were tasty. Nakia got the job and after graduation moved to Chicago without ever having been there or knowing a soul. She discovered that the advertising industry provided a great outlet for her naturally lawyer-like” analytical skills and extroverted personality — without the torture of law school. Nakia never looked back and built a strong Media Strategy career working on top brands like Diageo, US Army, Bank of America, Pfizer, Walmart, CVS/​pharmacy and MARS/​Wrigley. After taking a break client-side in Enter­tain­ment and Politics, Nakia is back in the fastlane with Decoded, excited to be a part of the agency model of the future.

Managing Director

James Stephens

A fascination with human behavior and culture creation brought James to the world of advertising. He sought out oppor­tu­ni­ties to work with world’s most famous brands, athletes, musicians and platforms eventually leading global teams at creative agencies such as 72andSunny, R/GA, Anomaly, doing highly visible campaigns for adidas, Instagram, Beats by Dre, ESPN, Budweiser, Sprite, etc. Having seen data science transform the world of sports and music, James came to Decoded for the opportunity to help transform the creative process and to build multi-dimensional brands capable of better under­stand­ing the diverse experiences of their consumers.

Chief Strategy Officer

Valerie Nguyen

Val is all about stretching the bounds of strategy: from upstream brand positioning and innovation work to driving creative campaigns to teaching strategic design at Parsons The New School. At Decoded, Val leads all aspects of Creative Strategy across our clients. She has over 10 years of experience at top creative agencies like Anomaly, Mother and was a Founding Partner and Co-Head of Strategy at Wolf & Wilhelmine. She’s also focused on stretching into the future with her work with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and with Google’s Advanced Technology and Projects group. Luckily for her stretch metaphor, she also really enjoys yoga.

Chief Operating Officer

Jordan Rednor

Jordan has made a career building, growing and managing businesses in the advertising industry. During the 80’s and 90s, he was a leading banker for advertising giants. In the late 90’s, he led the complete trans­for­ma­tion of a global agency. In the 2000’s? Jordan schooled and nurtured leading agencies in social media and shopper marketing. So, it only made sense that in the 2010’s and beyond Jordan continue to pioneer the trans­for­ma­tion of the industry at large with Decoded.

Lauren Sabedra

A love of french bulldogs and years of experience helping brands evolve, expand, and disrupt brought Lauren and Decoded together in 2016. Lauren’s instincts and approach to Brand Management were crafted from working with brands like Crayola, Chase, AB InBev, LVMH, Verizon, and Nestle Purina. She brings a thoughtful perspective on how to help clients chase their ambitions with data, creativity, and curiosity. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys reading every single word in any given catalog and dreaming up fake ads to run on 1010 WINS.

Head of Media Solutions

Mike Walker

Mike joined Decoded in 2016 to co-lead the development of Decoded’s media discipline. Together, he and the team steward a results-first approach to investment strategy and planning while ensuring excellence in servicing our clients at all levels. Prior to Decoded, Mike led some of Social­Code’s largest accounts before leaving there for Gannett (BLiNQ Media) where he oversaw the rollout of numerous scalable paid media solutions for major automotive and franchise advertisers.

Head of Creative Operations

Arielle Mendelsohn

Arielle started Decoded’s Project Management department and internal Production Studio. Combining operational expertise with an innate ability to bring people together, she makes Decoded’s creative operations more effective and efficient. Prior to Decoded, she helped launch VICE Media’s music channel Noisey, and managed the award-winning Visa portfolio of projects at MRY.

Head of Analytics

Harry Johnson

Harry joined Decoded in May 2020 to oversee all data initiatives, including measurement, product development and reporting automation. Prior to Decoded, Harry led brand marketing measurement at Expedia Group, covering the Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz brands. He also worked at SocialCode, leading paid media management for brands such as Williams-Sonoma, Nestlé and Best Buy.

Karen Kranack

Karen has performed her experience design magic on everything from high tech to high fashion. Having been on the client side, the agency side, and after owning her own company, Karen brings a mul­ti­fac­eted perspective to all engagements. She understands the delicate balancing act of supporting business goals, serving consumer needs, and integrating engaging technology. She’s a champion of lean innovation techniques paired with strong qualitative and quan­ti­ta­tive research. She’s worked with brands such as QuickBooks, SCJ, Equifax, Estee Lauder, Google, Lexus, Lucasfilm, Coca-Cola, Verizon, General Mills, Intermix and many others.

Chris Mozolewski

As Decoded’s CFO, Chris is relied upon to ensure that the agency’s finances are secure, reported accurately and are in compliance with today’s increased level of statutory require­ments.

Prior to joining Decoded in 2017 Chris worked at various advertising and promotional marketing agencies (both big and small) including Kirshenbaum Bond Senecal & Partners, Warwick Baker O’Neill, MVBMS Euro RSCG (Havas NY), and McCann-Erickson.

Chris escapes NYC nightly to his Connecticut home where he lives with his wife Lauren, and their two daughters.

James Donner

James joined Decoded in 2017 to found the media strategy and buying practice. Prior to Decoded he led media buying and developed consumer insights technology at SocialCode. James’ career has been focused on driving bottom line outcomes through innovative marketing solutions. James’ teams bring a media approach rooted in economics, statistics, and marketing principles to deliver market-beating business growth.

Kindra Meyer

Insatiably curious as a child, Kindra grew up in a one room log cabin in Idaho reading the dictionary backwards and riding her miniature shetland pony Midget. After her dreams of being a dancer on In Living Color were dashed due to her lack of rhythm, she spent two decades driving disruptive creative solutions for global brands and innovative agencies. She racked up a bevy of awards, won tens of millions in new biz, set someone on fire, broke a few World Records, toured with Jefferson Starship, was hit on by Cher, and invented Post-its. As GCD at Decoded she hopes to use its magical data process to finally find out what Meatloaf won’t do for love, and to stop inserting one lie into her bio.

Laura Holmes McCarthy

Laura joined Decoded in 2018, having most recently worked as an independent consultant, developing brand strategies and frameworks for everyone from Fortune 500 orga­ni­za­tions to small creative startups. Prior to that, she held roles as Brand Creative Director for Kickstarter and D’Addario, and as a copywriter for agencies including BBH NY, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Euro RSCG. Her diverse range of experience developing content, messaging, and performance and brand work for clients, agencies, and strategic con­sul­tan­cies alike provides her with a unique skill set that combines big-picture thinking with hands-on execution. She is passionate about pushing for work and agency cultures that are as ethical, equitable, and enjoyable as they are effective. She’s also a pretty good ceramicist, should you ever find yourself in need of a new mug.

Victor Sie

Victor’s background and early career were centered around various avenues of visual design, including brand, identity, information, and UI design work for brands like Volvo, IBM, and the American Red Cross. In crossing over into advertising he has maintained and built upon that design oriented outlook in the ideas, campaigns, and creative platforms he’s created for Jaguar, Visa, Dollar Shave Club, Booking​.com, HP, Reckitt Benckiser, and Penn State, among others. Having been with Decoded since day one(ish) his goals are relatively simple and haven’t changed a whole lot over that time – to create smart, impactful, beautiful, fun, bold, nuanced, modern, timeless, cerebral, dumb, evocative, unique, effective work alongside smart, good-hearted, talented people with diverse backgrounds and points of view.

Laura Shuey

As a native New Yorker, Laura has an adventurous spirit and brings a diversity of thinking and energy to everything she does. Just like the city, she always finds a way. Her love for production began back in college where as a Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Major with a Business Management minor, she found a group of like minded students who worked to revitalize a campus tv station. There she learned to shoot, edit and produce bi weekly shows. Having been bitten by the production bug, she returned to New York working at post houses, production companies and dub houses until she found her calling at a small ad agency, getting invaluable experience in agency production, business affairs, talent & trafficking. She has since worked with agencies large and small, producing and managing teams for both domestic and global integrated productions. She’s applied an open and creative problem solving approach to deliver great work for a wide range of clients. Laura loves puzzles, enjoys a challenge and uses her natural curiosity to discover and apply whatever’s next to bring even the most twistedly brilliant creative to life. Naturally, she’s found a home at Decoded, where every day is a fresh adventure.

Head of Design & Craft

Can Misirlioglu

Can Misirlioglu is a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary creative director born in Istanbul, raised in Oklahoma, and based in New York City for the past 20 years. He struggled with American Cheese for the majority of his life.

Previously, Can was the Group Creative Director for Studio6 — the design-driven content studio he reformed within the Havas Agency where his most notable work included new client rela­tion­ships he forged with Republic Records, Capitol, and Sony Legacy, earning him multiple D&AD pencils and Cannes Lions. 

He spent a decade at R/GA where his work for Nike became the foundation for the current iteration of R/GA Studios today. 

Can is also the co-founder of United Labor, a creative collective known for its eclectic output around art, music, and food culture. With the ample free time Can has in any given day, he runs the art+music label A Modest Plan, where he plays curator bringing together eclectic group of electronic music and visual artists for collaboration. 

Can did a complete 180 on American Cheese in the past few years, and he now upholds it as the true culinary treasure that it is.

HR Director

Elba D'Elia

Elba is a Human Resources pro­fes­sion­al with 20 years of progressive experience in a variety of HR functional areas. Prior to joining Decoded, she worked across industries, with a majority of her career in advertising providing HR support to agencies like Havas, and post house The Mill, where she managed all aspects of the employment process. Elba holds a Masters Degree in Psychology and she provides guidance on general human resources matters and manages policy and procedure imple­men­ta­tions while providing a supportive ear to all Decoded employees. She enjoys hiking, rock scrambling, and general time in nature with her family.
